Days Out Near New Ross
Now that winter is over, we can all enjoy getting out and about again a little more. The town of New Ross in Ireland is a great place to stay if you want a wide range of varied things to do on your doorstep.
The town itself has all you need from bars to shops like Vodafone New Ross and in the surrounding area there is something for everyone. Here are a few places of interest that you might like to visit…
Secret Valley Wildlife Park – A great day out for all the family, here you will be able to see animals from all over the world, as well as more local species! For kids there are lots of fun activities to get involved in, and it is all set in a beautiful area of countryside, which includes a pond, woodland and wildflower meadow.
The Kennedy Homestead – This special museum is a dedication to the family of American president J F Kennedy. It is the birthplace of the great grandfather of the man himself and is still cared for by his descendants today. This is a great insight into the history of the family and their legacy, and a must for history lovers.
Kelly’s Wood – To really get away from it all and enjoy Ireland’s glorious natural landscape head to Kelly’s wood. This woodland trail of oak trees is an important habitat for many species of animals and plants. The remains of an icehouse dating back to the 17th Century can also be found in the woodlands.
