Planning the most memorable corporate event

If you’ve been charged with organising a corporate event it can be a somewhat daunting prospect. You want to thank your staff but it’s difficult to please everybody and find something that hasn’t been done a million times before. Going for a few pints after work or a meal on the boss are very nice but if you’re looking for some wow factor then consider one of these:

A segway experience – if you’re keen to get everyone doing something outdoorsy then riding a segway can be a lot of fun. These machines can make for much hilarity amongst your colleagues and you’ll all be talking about it for years to come.

Make a movie – there are some companies that will take your team for a day and let them make a video or music video. It might take a while for the shy ones to get into the swing of it but imagine how absolutely hilarious the finished product will be. This is definitely one they won’t have done before. Unless you’ve hired ex-popstars of course!

Theme Park – if your workplace is full of fun-loving adrenaline junkies then why not hire a minibus and take them all off to a theme or water park for the day. Depending on the size of your company and budget, it has been known for companies to hire parks exclusively for the day so staff and their families can enjoy the park just for themselves.

Comedy Night – what better way to kick back and relax after a long, hard week of work than a few drinks and a good belly laughing session? Hire a venue, put some money behind the bar and find yourself a funny man or woman. For information on how to Hire A Comedian, visit https://thecomedyclub.co.uk/.

Foodie events – the nation has gone baking mad recently with TV shows like The Great British Bake Off so pack off your team to a baking class, a cookery competition or even chocolate making. If you want to ‘butch’ things up a bit then try a Man vs Food contest or visit a restaurant that has some kind of food challenge to attempt. A healthy bit of team competition never hurt anyone!

Extravagant ideas – if you want to really thank your top performers then why not get a bit more extravagant and do a team sky dive? Not for the faint of heart this one though. Snorkel with the sharks at a Sea Life Centre, which is great for smaller groups. Hot air ballooning is another popular luxury event, as is hiring a yacht for the day.

Sporty – for an active bunch, why not take your staff ferret racing? Not quite sure what it is but it sounds quite quirky and might raise a few eyebrows! Football golf is popular right now or if you fancy some live sport then what about a day at the races (with food and drink on the company of course!).
